Overview and Significance

Shiva Prabhakara Siddha Yogi (March 16, 1263 – April 6, 1986) was a spiritual master who lived for 723 years in 17 different physical bodies. Also known as Siddha Yogi Shivaprabhakara Swami Brahmananda, he was one of the greatest Siddha Yoga saints of the last century. His life is associated with many miraculous events that occurred because of his yogic realisation.

Many sources believe that Shiva Prabhakara Siddha Yogi is an avatar of Lord Shiva, while other sources say that he is an incarnation of the great saint Pulinayaka Swamiyar (according to mythology, Pulinayaka Swamiyar had returned to Kailash with Lord Ayyappa). Still other sources say that he is an incarnation of the son of the Sun God (Surya), Red Karna, and many sources agree that he is an embodiment of the Absolute, Lord Dattatreya Himself.

Above and apart from all of our biological concepts, the devotees of Shiva Prabhakara Siddha Yogi believe that he is living among us even now, with a human body. He is the embodiment of Brahma, the Supreme Deity. Numerous stories, fables and myths are based on his presence throughout history. Lord Shiva Prabhakara incarnates for the welfare, development and joy of all human beings. He leads his devotees to the Eternal bliss of Consciousness.

The Highest goal to be attained in spiritual life is Self-realisation; Shivaprabhakaran is the embodiment of Self-the Pure Consciousness. He is the Eternal Bliss and the Supreme Deity. Shivaprabhakaran wishes to lead all human beings to self-realisation, so he is always living with an incarnated body.

Shiva Prabhakara Siddha Yogi has had an immense, untold and invaluable impact on the world and in the lives of many contemporary spiritual leaders, including Amma, Shri Ravi Shankar, Swami Vivekananda, Sathya Sai Baba, and Mohanji.

Life History

It is believed that Shiva Prabhakara Siddha Yogi was born on 16th March 1263 and lived 723 years in almost 17 physical bodies. Prabhakara Siddha Yogi was born in Akavoor Mana as the son of Sri Iravi Narayanan Namboothiri of Akavoor Mana in Chowara near Alwaye and Srimathi Gowri Antharjanam of the famous Azhvancherry Mana of Malabar. He was said to be the re-incarnation of Pulinayaka Swamiyar. The 17th incarnation of Prabhakara Siddha Yogi left for the Himalayas at his 8th age and had undergone meditation for about 43 years. He then achieved all realisations of yoga and meditation and became the incarnation of pure self-consciousness – the supreme knowledge. Prabhakara Siddha Yogi was known by many names in different places during his lifetime. In Tamil Nadu he was known as Pambattisiddhan. Prabhakara Sidhaya Yogi lived thirty years with Nathakuzhiyil Janardhanan Nair, who he considered as his “Manasaputhran” at Omallur. On April 6th 1986, he attained Mahasamadhi.

‘As various books related to Lord Ayyppa say, Puli Nayaka Swamiyar, was the chief advisor of Lord Ayyppa. And our Swamiji is the rebirth of Puli Nayaka Swamiyar, who in his last birth stayed in Pulippara Mala. Lord Ayyapa used to visit Pulippara Mala and stay with Swamiyar. Similarly, when Swamiyar visited Panthalam Palace, the abode of Lord Ayyapa, he used to stay there. In those times all this area uptill Sabari Mala was a thick forest.

When Lord Ayyappa decided to move back to the heavenly abode, Puli Nayaka Swamiyar also dissolved in Kailasam with HIM. But as the Shastras (Divine Doctrines) say, any body born on Earth will have to attain death on the Earth itself (or attain samadhi in the case of sannyasi). So Swamiyar was reborn on our earth as Prabhakara Yogi in AD 1263 as Prabhakara Siddha Yogi in Akavoor Mana in Chowara near Kaladi.’

Prabhakara Siddha Yogi was born in Akavoor Mana as the son of Sri Iravi Narayanan Namboothiri of Akavoor Mana in Chowara near Alwaye and Srimathi Gowri Antharjanam of famous Azhvancherry Mana of Malabar in 1263. Meenam, Pururuttathy, was his birth star.

When Prabhakara was nine years old Lord Shiva, disguised as a Goswami, came to Akavoor Mana and took Prabhakara to a cave in the Himalayas. Prabhakara was taught hatha yoga, pranayama, etc. It is said that, afterwards, Goswami merged into Prabhakara, and he applied the lessons he learned into his life. He adopted this human form and lived on this Earth for 723 years.

1942 – Re-emergence

How Prabhakara was found in this incarnation:

During the period of the Second World War in 1942, fishermen were fishing in the sea waters of Ernakulam in Kerala when they found a huge lump of something from the deep waters caught up in their fishing net along with the fishes. When they cleared off all the algae, shells and fishes, it looked to them what seemed like polished black wood. They soon discovered that it was a human body that was strong and in proper shape. The lower part of the body was covered with a loincloth and a country towel. The hair on the head was raised and tied in what looked like a Shiva Linga (Jeda) in the head, tied upward like a Shiva Linga. They found that he was alive! The people and the police soon concluded that he was a Japanese Spy, involved in some activity during the World War. They soon locked him up at Mattancherry Police Station in Eranakulam, Kerala. The police then began using brutality on him to make him confess the truth, but they could not get anything out of him. Finally, tired, the Police Inspector went home to have his lunch, but to his utter shock he found the man in lockup walking right behind him. The authorities were in a complete dilemma. They then began asking him if he knew anyone in Kerala, to which the man said the name of one Shri. C.P. Ramaswami Iyer from Travancore. The authorities immediately got in touch with Shri. C.P. Ramaswami Iyer, who was found to be the Travancore Divan (the position of Chief Minister to the Royal King during those days). The Divan recognised him and immediately arranged him to be escorted to Trivandrum and sought his pardon. Shiva Prabhakara Siddha Yogi is told to have mentioned that he was in deep samadhi under the sea for about 50 years until the fishing nets had caught him. This made headlines in the prominent Malayalam Newspapers – Pouradhwani and Mathrubhumi.

1960 – 1986

Prabhakara Siddha Yogi lived thirty years with Nathakuzhiyil Janardhanan Nair, his “Manasaputhran” and accomplice in previous birth, at Siddhashramam in Pulippara Hill, Omallur, which was also his residence in his previous birth.

ANIL: When was the first time that you met Yogiji?

Nair: 1960! Yes, it was 1960 when I saw Yogiji for the first time. In the town of Pathanamthitta, near a shop, when the shopkeeper pointed out to me that Swamiji (Prabhakara Siddha Yogi) is more than a hundred years old. Enthusiastically, I glanced over to where Swamiji was standing and found a person who looked not a day over 50 years.

I came back home and told about the Swamiji to my brother-in-law (Kottor Madhavan Pilla) and that he was a kalatheethan (a man who passes the restriction of ageing). My brother-in-law said he knew about this swamiji but he wanted to see him.

From that day, I took upon finding the Swamiji and finally one day I spotted him near the dwelling of the owner of Anurag theatre, who was well known in the vicinity. I requested Swamiji to please bless my house by walking into it. To my delight and good stars, Swamiji accepted my invitation and came to my home. From that day, he became a regular visitor and then decided to start living with me. From that day to his samadhi, he lived each single day in my home with occasional travels

The Mahasamadhi

On April 6, 1986, exactly on the fall of his birthstar, he attained Mahasamadhi on the Pullipara Hill in Omalloor, Kerala.

Further Incarnations

One of the incarnations of Shiva Prabhakara Swami Brahmananda is Muttai Swami, also known as Palani Swami. He lived near the city of Palani in Tamil Nadu in southern India.

Muttai Swami left his body at 5 am on March 11, 2014; on March 13, a burial ceremony took place near his hut, in a field near Kanakanpatti, where he had spent most of his life. In 2015, a pandal and a mahasamadhi temple were built on this site. Now in Kanakanpatti is the Palani Swami pilgrimage center, where pujas, rituals and festivals are held, as well as annadhanam – feeding the devotees.

Tradition and Gurus

Picture: the famous yogi-miracle worker Swami Shivaprabhakara (Guru Avadhuta Brahmananda) from the state of Kerala, famous in southern India.

From Shiva Prabhakara Siddha Yogi, the tradition goes back to the god Ayappa, who is worshiped in the south of India, as well as to his teacher Siddhu Rishi Pambatti.

From Rishi Pambatti, the lineage goes back to Rishi Satyamuni, from Satyamuni to Rishi Nandi Devar, from Nandi Devar to Shiva himself. Rishi Nandi Devar attained svarupa-samadhi in the city of Kashi (Benares). His teacher was Shiva Himself and disciples: rishis Tirumular, Patanjali, Dakshinamurti, and Romarishi.

Sri Shiva Prabhakara Siddhayogi Swami Brahmananda is the greatest Siddha, a disciple of the Master of the Siddha tradition, Sri Pambatti, the Guru in the Avadhuta tradition.

Siddhar Pambatti is the great saint of southern India, the last of a line of 18 Tamil mahasiddhas, widely known both in India itself and beyond. The name Pambatti comes from the Tamil word ‘pamba’, which means snake. Pambatti’s whole life was associated with snakes, and they always accompanied him in one way or another. In his poems, he metaphorically compared the soul and consciousness of a person with a snake. His phrase ‘hell pambe’ has become widely known and recognised. ‘Adu pambe’ means ‘Dance, Snake!’ – so with this he ended each of his songs.

Pambatti often mentioned that neither siddhi nor liberation can be achieved without revealing love in the heart of the practitioner.

Teachings

Swami Brahmananda rarely interacted with people. He was a holy fool, radical, detached from the mundane, a Master of ‘crazy wisdom’, indifferent to the opinions of others about him, and like all sadhus he did not adapt to anyone. He did not like to talk about himself, his life too much, believing that all this is not useful for sadhana, but only distracts from self-exploration.

He was a very humble saint. Once a devotee asked him to build a palace in an ashram, but he refused. He did not like to draw attention to himself. Whoever managed to show devotion to him, he opened up to him. He had several disciples who often came and sat with him to meditate. But he did not say anything to them, sometimes he only nodded his head or drew various incomprehensible signs with a stick on the ground. But when those who meditated next to him sat down to meditate, they always had deep spiritual experiences. And what attracted others was the atmosphere of transcendence, mysticism and inexpressibility.

He imparted Knowledge to everyone in accordance with their karmas. He taught some of them by drawing signs in the sand, for which he was nicknamed ‘the incomprehensible, mysterious Baba’ – Achintya. To those disciples who were near, he passed on ‘shaktipatha’, touching the crown of the head or heart with his hand and introducing them into samadhi. Some disciples he came to in dreams in an illusory body and gave them teachings. He behaved like an ‘incomprehensible, insane Sage’, showing siddhi (spiritual powers). Prabhakara Siddha Yogi didn’t follow any of the outer, conventional teachings.

Swami had followers of all religions, faiths and castes. Great Soul Bhagavan Shri Shiva Prabhakara Siddha Yogi saw the entire human race as one whole. It is believed that Swami Brahmananda passed on the Laya Yoga Dharma to several students, among them the yogi Swami Vishnudevananda Giri. Laughing, he once called him ‘Maharaj’ and pointed at him with his finger, obviously implying that he would have many disciples.

As is well known, Brahmananda himself had many bodies, and at different times in different places he realised several immortal bodies–one of them he realised in 1986 in the village of Omallur, Kerala state. After that, Shiva Prabhakara more than once came to his chosen disciples, to whom he imparted secret knowledge, thereby showing that he transcended the laws of space, time and death.

http://advaitavadini.advayta.org/en/our-tradition/southern-line/

Mainly there are three types of Yoga’s: ‘Hadha, Lambika and Saivaraja’. Shivaprabhakaran has gone through all the stages of Yogas. Finally, he stepped up to the entire stages of the states of the knowledge. And at last He became the Knowledge itself.

He said many times to his devotees that he has been accepted or inhabited a body of Pure Knowledge. If such a deity accepts or inhabits a body of knowledge–if for a longer period he stands still in that body itself, no change will happen to His adhathmic stage or knowledge. Only Shivan can create that situation. Shivan is the eternal supreme knowledge that has no beginning or end, no name or format. He is the everlasting and unchangeable. There is no second one to him. He is reasonless incarnation of the Brahma. No scar can stain to that person. He himself fills this entire universe. He is the doctrine of Shiva and Shiva himself. It is like sun and its rays. Shiva himself embodied as Sivaprabhakaran for the welfare and progress of adhyathmic life of his humanity. That is because he is seen always in ‘Abhaya Varada’ Mudras. There is no other yogi ever seen such as Shivaprabhakaran.

He didn’t say anything but showed everything. He gave Murukopadesam to Srimath Chattambi Swamikal. He walked from the extremes of the sea water, then came and gave adhyatmic advice (Gurupadesha) to Karuvatta Swamikal. Many times he stayed with Sri Neelakanta Guru at Chengottukonam shrine. He gave blessings to Sreenarayana Guru and Mata Amritanandamayi Devi. He never liked to be known as a saint and never went for publicity. The people who approached Shivaprabhakaran for attaining wealth and wishes found him to be a very ugly character. But those who depended on him for adhyathmic welfare, He gave all blessings to fulfill their wishes.

Miracles

Shiva Prabhakara Siddha Yogi is well known throughout the state of Kerala, and many there are who have been blessed to witness his miracles. Though he was often around in Kerala, he also is known to have lived in many places in North and South India over many centuries, changing bodies with his master over the boon of Parakaya Pravesh (power of exiting and entering into another body at will). Many witnesses have even seen him flying, while others claim to have witnessed him becoming invisible. Multiple people shared that they saw him levitating in the air in the yogic posture of padmasana. A few spotted him bathing in boiling water, while others saw him with poisonous snakes, and some witnessed him moving immovable objects.

A few witnessed him change metals to gold, while others knew of his ability to read their thoughts. He also used to predict the future as people mentioned. One of his most precious miracles was his dissolution into light in front of a gathering on the astrological day of his birth, which was published in the leading dailies of Kerala – ‘Mathrubhumi Manorama’ and ‘Malaala’.

He took his mahasamadhi in the year 1986. He is even known to have again appeared to his chosen disciples and given them the sacred knowledge, proving that Siddhas like him surpass all laws of space, time and death.

Swamiji is widely known in Kerala, where he has many admirers and witnesses of his miracles. He lived without aging for several eras, appearing under different names in many places in India, both in the north and in the south. He was a master of the secret technique of Parakaya Praveshana, and leaving his body in the Himalayas, he repeatedly infused the bodies of various people.

Aghora II: Kundalini excerpt:

‘Let me tell you about another Siddha I met. He is a very unusual person, even among the many unusual people in this universe. Some years ago a policeman saw a man wandering around in the backwaters of Cochin, in what is now the state of Kerala. When the policeman stopped him and asked his name the man replied, ‘My name is Prabhakaran, and I have come to look after the interests of my great-great-great-grandchildren.’ The police-man thought he was trying to be funny and asked him his age. The man replied, ‘More than seven hundred years.’ The policeman ran him in.

Prabhakaran told the policemen at the station house that he did not eat or drink anything, so the jailers informed him, ‘We are going to keep you in solitary confinement without food and water, and no toilet either.’ Prabhakaran said, ‘O.K.’ When five or six days later Prabhakaran was still in perfect shape, the jailers had to admit to his abilities.

‘Then they asked him, ‘Does anyone know you?’ Prabhakaran replied, ‘Ask C. P. Ramaswamii Aiyar; I once saved his life.’ As soon as they telephoned Sir C. P Ramaswami Aiyar, who was then the Prime Minister of Travancore (also now part of Kerala) he immediately flew to Cochin to meet Prabhakaran, and insisted that Prabhakaran return with him to Travancore. But Prabhakaran said, ‘No, I prefer to go back to the sea.’ As soon as he had seen to the well-being of his descendants, he walked out into the ocean. But that was nothing for him. He had already spent four hundred years in the Himalayas and two hundred years in the sea. He is a Siddha, after all.

I recently learned that a man whom some had identified as Prabhakaran had been living on land for some years in an ashram, spending most of his time dancing in Bhava Samadhi. Eventually he announced to everyone that he had had enough of existence after seven hundred years, and that he had decided to leave his body in ten days. And so he did.

Contemporary Masters

Lord Sri ShivaPrabhakara Siddhayogi with Amma

Prabhakara Siddha Yogi enjoyed living as an Avadhuta on this Earth and did not want to waste time between births or in growing up after each birth, and so when one body became old and weak, he would just leave it, entering into another ‘ready-made’ one! He had moved like this in and out of many bodies. Hearing about him, Amma had a desire to see such a being and therefore simply thought of him. The next day he arrived at her house.Did you call me here?’, he inquired.Yes. How did you know?’, Amma asked him.
‘I saw an effulgent light on my mental screen yesterday. I understood that you wanted to see me, and so I have come,’ he said.

Now this Avadhuta had a very bad reputation for troubling women. Stripping off his clothes, he would run after and try to catch them, regardless of the consequences. When he was criticised for this, he said, ‘What do I care for earthly ladies? At all times I am surrounded by a bevy of celestial damsels worshiping me! Is it my fault if you can’t see them?’

One day he said to his followers, ‘I am feeling a little bit of ego in my body. I think something should be done to get rid of it.’ He then went to a nearby village, inquired about where the Superintendent of Police lived, and went to his house. After knocking on the front door, he stood there waiting. Finally, the wife of the policeman came to the door. The Avadhuta caught her in a bear hug! Of course, this did not go over very well with her husband, who took hold of him and beat him up to his heart’s content. He then locked them up and had one of Prabhakara’s arms broken. Mysteriously, the yogi disappeared from the jail the next day and was found in another place, sound in all limbs. Because of such conduct, whenever he entered a village, the women locked themselves behind closed doors and the men folk beat him or chased him away. If the reader wonders why a yogi should act in this manner, Mother would say that only those in his state can know! The explanation cannot be understood from the ordinary person’s viewpoint. He is not identified with a body and is totally detached from this world. His viewpoint is quite inconceivable for us who are still asleep in this dream of illusion.

True to his nature, the yogi tried to catch hold of Mother, who was in her early twenties at the time. She immediately caught his hand in an iron grip and said, ‘Don’t you know who I am? I knew your father, your grandfather and your great grandfather!’ ‘Oh yes, You are the Divine Mother Kali Herself. In the future, people will come from all corners of the earth to this holy place for Your darshan!’, the yogi replied with a blissful smile on his face. The Mother then gave him an affectionate hug and he went into samadhi for a long time. Even though she considered him as one who was established in the Transcendental State of Bliss and thus had a high regard for him, she nonetheless felt that his presence and example would exert a bad influence on the spiritual children who were to come to her in the future. She therefore made a resolve that he should not come back for a long time, and in fact, he was not seen at the Mother’s Ashram for many years to come. It was during the celebration of his three-hundredth birthday that he decided to leave his present body. He called his followers together and told them only one thing: that they should go to Vallickavu and tell Mother Kali that he had gone. Such was his respect and love for Mother

Swami Vivekananda

Swami Brahmananda met with prominent people of the past centuries such as Swami Vivekananda (the chief disciple of saint Ramakrishna), who in his famous speech at the Parliament of the World’s Religions in Chicago in 1893 introduced Hinduism to the world and called on the world to be in unity and harmony.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

ANIL: What was the Swamiji’s relation with Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the founder of ‘Art of Living’?

Nair: Swamiji was the Guru of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. One day some disciples of Siddha ashrama visited Swamiji. They invited Swamiji for a tour of Bangalore. After reaching Bangalore, the disciples went to attend some other religious function. Swamiji walked out on his own and came to the house of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who was away from his native region in Tamil Nadu and was staying in Bangalore. Swamiji met him and taught him various breathing techniques. Before leaving HE blessed him by saying that you shall become very famous in the Art of Breathing.

Swamiji came back to the ashrama in Kerala and told me that he had met Ravi Sahnkar. He would also become famous like Matha Amrithana Maya Devi. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar gained popularity after Swamiji’s samadhi.

Sathya Sai Baba

ANIL: Is there any Relation with Sri Satya Sai Baba?

Nair: There is some strong relation with Sai Baba too, but I don’t know what exactly. That relation was a mysterious one, just like his own life. But I can tell you of one incident. When Sai Baba’s fame spread throughout Kerala, I was also lured into paying him a visit. But Swamiji stopped me by saying that I don’t need to meet him. I tried to persaude him but he did not concede.

After months of this discussion, I happened to travel to Madras with my School Manager for some official purpose. After our official duties were over, my school manager said that he wished to visit the Tirupati temple. So we went there. Someone told us that Puttavarti (Sai Baba’s Ashrama) was near Tirupati. My school manager made up his mind to visit there. I was not very eager to go as I did not have Swamiji’s permission, yet I tugged along hesitantly.

We decided to go by train, but for the first time in many years the train was cancelled due to some engine fault. We decided to take the bus but as soon as the bus started, its engine burst into a huge fire. It was then I told my friend that I am not going without my Guru’s permission and came back to the Ashrama.
When I came back, Swamiji asked me, ‘Did you see him (Sai Baba)? Did you go there?’ I was surprised about how he could know of our attempts. I honestly told him the whole story.

Time carried on with its own pace. I decided to go to Bangalore for a B. Ed. admission. Swamiji said to me, ‘Sai Baba is in Whitefield, 12 km from Bangalore. Now, go and meet him.’

With my official obligations over, I decided to go to Whitefield. A huge crowd had gathered to see Sai Baba. I made no attempt to move forward in the huge crowd and see Sai Baba from close up. Suddenly Sai Baba walked through the crowd and came very near to where I was. He spotted me and came to me, placed his hand on my head in the form of blessing and said in Tamil, ‘You come here because He told you to do so. Did you get permission from Him?’ I replied affirmatively. Then Sai Baba said, ‘HE and Myself are all One, HE is myself (Njan Than Avan), myself is Him only (Avan Than Njan). He knows everything.’ I was thrilled by that knowledge and thought about how I knew the two greatest Yogis and had their blessings also.

Apart from this I do not know what the mysterious relation is between the two.

Mohanji Visits the Samadhi of Shiva Prabhakara Siddha Yogi

On 9th February 2020, Mohanji visited the samadhi of Shiva Prabhakara Siddha Yogi, a very powerful Siddha Master who is said to have lived for over 800 years in various forms and has empowered many powerful masters such as Narayan Guru, a powerful social reformer and spiritual leader who led the reformist movement in South India.

A few days before the visit, Mohanji ‘spontaneously’ had an opportunity to meet an Avadhoota, known as Thalasseri Amma. Her altar had a picture of Shiva Prabhakara Siddha Yogi, thereby confirming the connection.

Mohanji and a few others first visited the home where Shiva Prabhakara Siddha Yogi had lived for over 30 years before he took samadhi. The house still radiates supreme divine energy. Mohanji said he believed that Shiva Prabhakara Siddha Yogi still lives there and guides people. There are many accounts of people who have physically met Shiva Prabhakara Siddha Yogi even though he has taken samadhi hundreds of years ago.

A visit to Yogi’s Samadhi was arranged. Mohanji had an opportunity to enter and meditate in the sanctum, a special privilege since none are allowed inside barring the caretaker. We were invited to the home once again and Mohanji was gifted a beautiful portrait of Shiva Prabhakara Siddha Yogi. Mohanji said that he had a communion with the Siddha who told him, ‘I will empower you. I will come with you.’ Coincidentally, the lady who looks after the place (home and ashram) later said that she had a strong urge to gift Mohanji with a picture of Shiva Prabhakara Siddha Yogi. Thus, the Siddha fulfilled his second promise.

Holy Sites and Pilgrimages

Sri R Janardhanan Nair founded an ashram in memory of Shiva Prabhakara Siddha Yogi. Nair was born on 30/12/1935 at Pathanamthitta district. He is the chief disciple of Sri  Shiva Prabhakara Siddha Yogi Swamikal. Janardhanan Nair considers Prabhakara Siddha Yogi as  his Guru, and vice versa Prabhakara Yogi considered him as ‘Manasaputra’. Janardhanan Nair  is  also known as Prabhakarasidha Dasa Swamikal. Around 1955 he met the sadhu Prabhakara Siddhayogi Paramahamsa. They became friends, and later Yogikal considered  Nadhakuzhiyil Janardhanan Nair as his son and beloved one. Until mahasamadhi, Swamiji stayed at the residence of Janardhanan Nair. Because of the grace of  Siddhayogi, Sri  Janardhanan Nair received all-time opportunity  to do seva for Swamikal. After the samadhi of Jagat Guru Sree Siva Prabhakara Sidha Yogikal, Janardhanan Nair founded an ashram in the memory of his Guruji. Thus he became the key figure of Prabhakarasiddhashramam. Unfortunately, he left with untold stories, and he dissolved in Guru. In April of 2015, he passed away.

Nair: ‘One day Swamiji told me that I needed to build an ashrama for him. I told him, Swamiji you know I am a poor school teacher and I don’t have enough funds to build an ashrama. At that time I was only getting Rs 400 as salary and it was difficult for me to even run the household in that amount. At that time I was living in my ancestral home that was below the Puliparan Mala.

But with Swamiji’s blessing soon a home loan was sanctioned in my name and I was able to get some land at the top of Pullipara Rock as Swamiji had wished. We finally managed to build a small ashrama on the top of the hill.’

From Pathanamthitta district headquarters, if one travels 3 km through either Pathanamthitta-Pandalam or Pathanamthitta-Adoor road, one can reach Omallur Sri Rakthakandeshwaram Temple.  If one reaches the Omallur temple junction, anybody will be able to direct the way to Samadhi.  If one reaches the Govt. Ayurveda hospital, through the road on the northern side of temple junction, they will find a road west of Govt. Ayurveda Hospital through which they can reach the Mahasamadhi temple of Jagat Guru.

Mahasamadhi Mandapa and the corridor on its front correspond to the Hagadh Gurus Charisma. On the northern side is the Vana Durga Temple popularly known as Pulippara Amma. In order to develop the vast land here, substantial money is required for road and electricity also.

This is a place of worship for all religions. Any person irrespective of religion has full freedom to mediate and to offer silent prayers.  Anyone can put down his/her bag of worries and if he/she prays for something after offering Guru Dakshina, he will be rewarded with what he has asked for, which has been the experience of many people who have visited and prayed here. Mother nature has blessed this place generously. A visitor who comes once to this place will re-visit this place again and again, which is only a miraculous truth. To develop this World Pilgrimage Center and for the convenience of the devotees who come to visit this place, co-operation and help is needed from good-hearted people.

So we humbly request your wholehearted help and visitation of this holy Pilgrim center for the development of this Universal Pilgrim Center.  Special pujas, distribution of food (Annadhanam) and Bhagavatha Parayanam is conducted every month on the Malayalam star Pururuttathy. We are requesting everyone’s help for the development of the Mahasamadhi Temple of Jagadhguru and Protector of the entire World, Sri  Prabhakara Siddha Yogi , and for the welfare of His devotees.
